Top Tips and Tricks for your Lampshade

When it comes to choosing the right bulb for your shade, it is safer to use CFL or LED bulbs rather than the traditional incandescent light bulbs, due to their lower heat output. Also, higher wattage bulbs generate more heat and require more ventilation, which means they must be used with larger or wider shades. But we recommend the use of low energy bulbs to minimize heat generation.

There should be a distance of about 2-3 inches between the outer side of the bulb and the inner lining of the lampshade to avoid the shade from heating up.

On every hardback fabric lampshade, you will notice a seam running between the top and bottom edges. When your lamp is lit, this seam is clearly visible. To hide it from view when mounted, turn your lampshade so that the seam is at the back, maybe facing a wall.

Clean your lampshade regularly. Use a soft-bristled dry brush to remove the dust from the surface or wipe using a soft, dry cloth. Keep away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, sharp objects, water and moisture.

We hope you found these tips and tricks useful. We will be happy to answer any questions that you may have about the use and maintenance of your lampshade.
