In many countries, it is a common practice to replace old lampshades often, but the concept is relatively new to India and picking up now. You will not find a wide variety of lampshades in the stores, and most of those available are in basic shapes or plain colors. So we recommend looking online to find the best lampshade to suit your style.

You can choose to buy a brand new lampshade to either replace an old shade that you're bored with or that you think doesn't add much to your decor, or to make up for a missing or a damaged shade on an old lamp. In choosing a new shade, you may decide to stick close to the shape and size of your old shade or experiment with newer forms and designs.

For a table lamp, the shade you choose should be about 3/4th the height of the base. For a floor lamp, choose a shade that is at least 1/4th the base height.

The bottom width of a shade should always be more than the widest part of the lamp.

If your only purpose is to brighten up the space, opt for a light colored lampshade with a wide opening at the top and the bottom to maximize light output. For mood lighting or ambient lighting, you can experiment with various colors and shapes of lampshades and choose low wattage bulbs for dim lighting.

Wider and flatter lampshades go well with thin and tall lamps, while taller shades usually complement thick and curvy lamps. But no rule is written in stone. Don't be afraid to experiment with different shapes and sizes until you find the right one!

Our lampshades only fit the commonly used Edison Screw 27 (E27 or ES27) standard sockets (see photo above), so please ensure your lamp is built with the E27/ ES27 socket before you buy a shade from us.

Hope this helps you find the best lampshade to dress up your lamp and perk up your decor. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about finding the right lampshade.
